Early Victorian "Drag Queen" chair
The photograph printed on the back of this chair was taken by Alex Zhavoronkova a photographer who lives and works in Rome.
As soon as I saw it I knew that it would come alive "framed" on the back of a Victorian chair that I was restoring at the time. The flamboyant nature of the subject combined with the exquisite carving and well aged Mahogany of the frame all worked together to produce a truly dramatic combination.
The chair is upholstered traditionally using mixed hair and coir. The black satin is by Dedar.
